Glycopeptide Capture for Cell Surface Proteomics - JoVE
We provide a large-scale proteomic resource of cell-surface proteins for the four embryo-derived stem cell lines. Proteomics is an interdisciplinary domain that has benefitted greatly from the genetic information of various genome projects, including the Human Genome Project. It covers the exploration of proteomes from the overall level of protein composition, structure, and activity. It is an important component of functional genomics. Cell surface proteins are responsible for communication with the environment and play important roles in many fundamental biological processes, e.g. cell-cell interactions, cell signaling via receptors and transportation of ion and solutes [ 1, 2 ]. This information can be crucial in identifying potential biomarkers of disease, such as cancer, and can be influential in the establishment of innovative therapies. 2020-03-12 · The five most abundant surface proteins, CD44, SPN, ICAM3, ITGB2 and BSG accounted for ~25% of the surface proteome, with CD14 representing ~3.5% (Fig. 2). The summed abundance of class I Major Compositional Analysis of GBM Cell-Surface Proteome by Shotgun Proteomics There is significant heterogeneity across tumors of individuals, even within each of the four molecular subtypes. To capture some of this heterogeneity, we performed cell-surface prote-omics on four cell lines including two GBM cell lines, UMG87 An analysis of surface proteomics results reveals novel candidates for intracellular/surface moonlighting proteins in bacteria.

Despite their clinical appeal, cell-surface proteins are often underrepresented in standard proteomic data sets, due to their poor solubility and lower expression levels compared to intracellular proteins.

2002-06-06 2009-08-28 Cell Surface Proteomics. Cell surface proteins can be defined as a particular protein family. They have vital functions such as managing cellular functions and communicating between the cell and environment through transporting metabolites, ions, other solutes, etc. According to statistics, roughly 30% of human genes encode for cell membrane Cell-Surface Proteomics Identifies Differences in Signaling and Adhesion Protein Expression between Naive and Primed Human Pluripotent Stem Cells April 2020 Stem Cell Reports 14(5) 2020-03-12 2021-01-01 Surface proteins contained in the supernatants are recovered by centrifugation, precipitated, separated by 2-DE, and identified by mass spectrometry (26 – 29) (Figure 1). Denaturating agents (urea, guanidine-HCl, SDS buffers) have been also used to extract non-covalently bound surface proteins.
